At the recent Siemens Digitalize 2019 conference, Siemens officially launched the latest release of PowerCad 5 software for electrical design engineers that now includes Siemens circuit breakers and motor control products that have now been tested for Australian industry.

“PowerCAD is the next significant investment to help reinstate Siemens as an Australian leader in the Low Voltage market”, said Andrew Bau (Siemens Business Unit Manager).

After independently testing the new Siemens SENTRON Circuit Breakers to meet the Selectivity and Backup requirements of AS/NZS 60947-2 2015, and also the Type 2 Coordination testing of the SIRIUS Contractor and SIMOCODE Intelligent Motor Protection Relay ranges, Siemens have now proved what product combinations meet Australian technical conditions and the local industry requirements.

“Having published tables of product combinations is a good foundation step, however having engineering software such as Simaris and PowerCad with digitalised curve data for Design Engineers is fundamental in our continued commitment to assist specification engineers in the design stage of a project”, Mr Bau continued.

This latest PowerCad 5 software release follows a number of significant milestones for Siemens low voltage switchgear across the last 18 months including the launch of a wide range of new Low Voltage products, the release of an Australian 2019 Industrial Products Catalogue and the appointment of APS Industrial as their Master Distributor for of industrial low voltage electrical and automation products in Australia.
